SRIJAN (Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint Action) registered as a public charitable trust in January 2000. SRIJAN means an ‘act of creation’ in Sanskrit. The full name, Self-Reliant Initiatives through Joint ActioN, has two embedded themes: ‘self-reliance’ and ‘joint action’. We at SRIJAN believe that development on large scale can be achieved by exploring ways to execute poverty alleviation models through promoting self-reliance and enhancing self-respect of ‘beneficiaries. SRIJAN is working in 18 aspirational, deprived districts of five states in India- Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh across more than 2,204 villages, impacting the lives of over 200,000 families in collaboration with Government agencies and both private and institutional donors. SRIJAN has functioned as resource organization in Telangana, Assam, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty, Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Kerkin Acte on Access to Finance and Inclusive Markets and UP State Rural Livelihoods Mission.

Anthill creations is a non-profit organization founded by IIT Kharagpur architects, that transforms spaces into interactive and sustainable playgrounds using locally sourced materials , helping children develop holistically and preventing excessive pollution at the same time. Over 5 years, they have collaborated with various companies in building 320 playgrounds across India by recycling 210 tons of tyre and reaching out to 2,00,000+ children across 20 states in India.

In 2018, HFI launched the Forests by Heartfulness (FBH) initiative to drive environmental conservation and sustainability efforts. FBH aims to plant over 30 million trees across India by 2027 and create carbon sinks of 759 million kgs. To conserve native, endemic, and threatened species, enriching mega-biodiversity for a cleaner and greener world. FBH aims to contribute to sustainability and play a pivotal rolein the transition to a circular bio-economy.

Our first success was The Green Kanha Initiative was started to transform 1,400 acres of barren land at Kanha Shantivanam into a thriving green oasis.Since 2016, we the initiative successfully planted over 800,000 saplings, dramatically revitalizing the landscape.

Inspired by the life and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, and equipped by their medical training in India, and subsequently, training in public health and research at the Johns Hopkins University, the doctor couple Abhay and Rani Bang founded `SEARCH' in 1986. SEARCH is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) working in the poorest, semi-tribal district, Gadchiroli, in the State of Maharashtra (India), 1000 km from Mumbai. SEARCH runs several health programs such as providing medical care through a hospital for the tribal and rural people of Gadchiroli, mobile medical units to 200 tribal villages, community health care in 269 villages, community-based mental health program, reproductive health education for tribal youths and women, youth leadership programme for youths from across the country, prevention and deaddiction of alcohol and tobacco, participatory program for tribal development, training of trainers from different parts of the country and abroad, field research to improve rural health services and advocacy to influence policy. Over past 38 years, SEARCH has been able to make some important breakthrough in the public health problems of India, and globally.
