Background

The e-KYC Setu is a system put in place by NPCI to enable verification of identity of a client or its beneficiary owner by a reporting entity (RE) regulated by RBI.

The verification shall be carried out through e-KYC authentication under the Aadhaar Act without disclosing the Aadhaar number of the individual to the reporting entity.

e-KYC Setu System developed by NPCI facilitates one stop solution to simplify the on-boarding journey for the regulated entities under RBI by utilizing the Aadhaar based e-KYC services.

  • The e-KYC Setu system offers a secure and user-friendly digital journey for completing KYC of beneficiary owners.
  • The e-KYC Setu system assists regulated entities (REs) in reducing operational complexities and minimizing the burden of managing Aadhaar data.
  • The eKYC Setu system provides flexibility to REs to choose the appropriate tech platforms for capturing Aadhaar numbers and OTPs based on their business use cases.
  • Entities can easily onboard on the eKYC Setu system through NPCI's single window onboarding process.
