RuPay NCMC Features & Benefits:
  • Your bank issued RuPay contactless debit, credit and pre-paid card can be used as NCMC for seamless payments. The contactless symbol is present on the card facia of your RuPay card. Here is a spectrum of banks that offer RuPay contactless cards: List of banks offering RuPay contactless cards | NPCI. Enjoy the added benefit of NCMC with the card you always used.
  • These cards can be used for various purposes such as metro, bus, suburban railways, parking, smart city services and of course for your retail shopping, ecommerce and any regular purchases.
  • NCMC can hold a stored value, like a wallet, specifically designated for making offline travel payments in metros, buses and parking by topping-up the card. You can make these offline payments without an internet connection. However, this stored value cannot be used for online purchases at retail stores or e-commerce websites.
  • The card also has a feature to enable specific offerings such as monthly passes and season tickets.
  • NCMC operates in major cities in India. All the NCMC projects can be viewed at: List of banks offering RuPay contactless cards | NPCI
RuPay NCMC can be topped-up in three ways:
  • Cash: Commuters can go to a metro or bus station and pay the operator with cash, UPI, or any scheme's card to load money onto the NCMC.
  • Account: Commuters can go to a metro station and ask the operator to add money to the NCMC by debiting their respective RuPay NCMC card's source account (savings for debit card, credit limit for credit card, prepaid pool account for prepaid card).
  • Online: This involves two steps-
    • Commuters can add money to the NCMC virtual account using mobile banking or internet banking provided by their bank.
    • After successfully adding money to the NCMC virtual account, commuters can tap the card on the metro station's Add Value Machine (AVM) or the bus conductor's POS or ticket machine to update the balance.

Contact your bank or visit the nearest metro station or bus depot to get your NCMC card issued!
